Terms and Conditions of Use for the Classifieds Service bs.com.fj

1. General Conditions

1.1. By placing an advertisement on bs.com.fj, users confirm their full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and grant permission for their personal and contact data to be stored in the platform’s database, in accordance with applicable legal regulations.

1.2. The bs.com.fj website utilizes cookies, which are saved on the user's device. Third-party services, such as Google Ads and analytics tools, may also place cookies. Users can remove these cookies at any time through their browser settings.

1.3. To help prevent the unlawful sale of restricted or controlled goods—including excise products, pharmaceuticals, weapons, and hazardous materials—as well as to ensure that services requiring licensing are properly authorized, the platform administrators may request proof of identity and further documentation. This information is collected in the minimum required amount, securely stored, accessible only to authorized personnel, and tracked through access logs.

 

2. Advertisement Guidelines

Ads may be declined or removed if they:

  • Contravene any applicable laws or ethical norms, or include false/misleading content.
  • Are incorrectly categorized or only partially relevant to the selected category.
  • Lack sufficient description, omit key details, or contain deceptive photos or wording (e.g., omitting vehicle accident history or using unrelated furniture photos).
  • Advertise multiple items/services or are overly vague (e.g., "Various laptops").
    Note: Exceptions apply to “Miscellaneous,” “Manufacturing,” and “Repair” subcategories (see Clause 5.4.1).
  • Promote unavailable products/services or those located outside Fiji.
  • Include contact details (phone, email, links) in fields where such info is not allowed.
  • Present unclear or misleading pricing (e.g., not including taxes, hidden fees, or VAT).
  • Use low-quality, misleading, or plagiarized images (e.g., watermarked photos, stock photos, collages, or images with added text/logos).
  • Use all capital letters, excessive symbols, irrelevant or meaningless characters in titles.
  • Include promotional phrases in titles like “SALE,” “Best Deal,” or “Attention.”
  • Infringe upon copyright or trademark rights.
  • Are written in a language other than Latvian, Russian, or English, or use transliterated script.
  • Request full or partial advance payment for products/services.
  • Attempt to collect user data for unauthorized purposes.
  • Have been flagged multiple times by users.
  • Promote licensed services without disclosing a license number or valid contact information.
  • Involve offers related to adult content, webcam work, or sexual services.
  • Encourage participation in pyramid schemes, network marketing, or online click-based tasks.
  • Advertise tobacco, alcohol, controlled substances, or dangerous materials.
  • Repeatedly include irrelevant links or point to unrelated/poor-quality websites.
  • Contain manipulative wording, unnecessary keywords, slogans, exclamations, or calls to action.
  • Feature manipulated mileage, edited license plates, false vehicle production years, or other deceptive data.
  • Are duplicated or reposted with identical content or links.
  • Link to spam, unsolicited messaging, or intrusive ads.
  • Promote worthless, fake, or nonsensical items.

 

3. Managing Advertisements

3.1. Once published, ads cannot be modified.

3.2. Ads violating any rules outlined in Section 5 will be removed. A removal fee of 1.99 FJD per ad applies. The remaining duration will be refunded to the user's bs.com.fj balance. Repeat violations may result in account restrictions.

3.3. Each person, business, or entity is allowed only one registered account.

3.4. Ads go live within one hour of payment. The user can select a listing period between 1 day and 8 weeks.

3.5. Ad pricing depends on several factors including category, product value, listing duration, and payment method. All costs are inclusive of 15% VAT as per Fiji’s taxation. Since ad publication occurs in Fiji, VAT applies even to users outside the country.

 

4. Liability and Responsibility

4.1. If the service becomes temporarily unavailable, the ad duration will be adjusted accordingly. This does not apply if the issue is due to third-party service providers.

4.2. Users are solely accountable for the content of their ads, including any legal breaches or harm resulting from the content.

4.3. The service operator, site administrators, and owners of bs.com.fj are not liable for ad content, platform availability, or associated damages, unless otherwise stated.

4.4. In case of business user violations:

  • On the first offense, the ad will be deleted without refund and the user will receive a warning.
  • If a second violation occurs within a 12-month period, ad publishing privileges may be suspended for up to one year.
  • Attempts to bypass a ban (e.g., through alternate accounts) will lead to ad removal and bs.com.fj will not be held accountable for losses incurred by third parties.

4.5. Business users are not granted access to personal or statistical user data collected through the platform.

4.6. SIA Baltijas Meistari is authorized to access personal data provided by both business and individual users for the operation of the classifieds platform. This data is not publicly disclosed or shared with third parties. Refer to the Privacy Policy for more details.

 

5. Modifications to These Terms

5.1. These Terms and Conditions may be revised or updated at any time. Changes become effective once published on the bs.com.fj website.

5.2. Business users will be notified 15 days in advance of any updates. The changes will take effect 15 days after notification, unless additional time is specified for technical or business reasons.

5.3. Business users may terminate their contract within this 15-day window by submitting written notice to bs.com.fj. Termination takes effect 15 days after notice is received.

5.4. Users may waive this notice period by submitting a written request or through a clear and affirmative action.
